Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 7, 2026
Snoop Detector ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Snoop Detector collects the following data, all of which is stored locally on your device:
- Face data: Data of enrolled users' faces for facial recognition.
- Intrusion photos: Photos captured by the front camera when an unauthorized user is detected.
- Location data: GPS coordinates at the time of an intrusion (Pro feature, requires location permission).
- App usage data: A list of apps accessed during an intrusion, including timestamps.
- App preferences: Your settings, such as detection mode, theme preference, and notification preferences.
2. How We Use Your Data
All data is used solely for the purpose of detecting and logging unauthorized access to your device. Specifically:
- Face data is used to determine whether the person using the phone is an authorized user.
- Intrusion photos, location, and app usage data are stored in local logs for your review.
- If you enable email notifications (Pro feature), intrusion details are sent to your specified email address via our secure email relay server. No data is retained on our server after delivery.
3. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud servers that store your personal data. The only server communication is:
- Email relay: If email notifications are enabled, intrusion data is transmitted to our server solely for the purpose of sending the notification email. Data is not stored after delivery.
- Google Play Billing: Purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. We do not collect or store payment information.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your intrusion logs, photos, and face data never leave your device unless you explicitly enable email notifications.
5. Permissions
The app requests the following permissions:
- Camera: Required for face recognition and intrusion photo capture.
- Location: Used to record location at the time of an intrusion.
- Usage Stats: Used to log which apps were accessed during an intrusion.
- Foreground Service: Required to run detection in the background.
- Boot Completed: Required to restart detection after device reboot.
6. Data Retention
Intrusion logs are retained on your device until you delete them. Free users can store up to 3 logs; Pro users can store up to 50. When the limit is reached, the oldest log is automatically deleted when a new intrusion is recorded.
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data, including face data, intrusion logs, and photos.
7. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
- View all intrusion logs within the app.
- Delete individual logs or all logs at any time.
- Remove enrolled face data by deleting users.
- Uninstall the app to delete all data permanently.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
