support@snoopdetector.comFrequently Asked Questions
How does face recognition
work?
When your phone is unlocked, Snoop Detector silently activates the front camera and
runs AI-based face recognition. It compares the face it sees against your enrolled face data. If the
face doesn't match, it logs an intrusion with a photo, timestamp, location, and app usage data.
Does the app drain my
battery?
Snoop Detector is optimized for minimal battery impact. It only activates when the
screen turns on and runs detection for a brief window.
Is my face data stored
securely?
Yes. Your data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded to any server.
What happens if I wear
glasses or change my appearance?
The face recognition system is robust to minor changes like glasses, hairstyles, and
lighting conditions. If you experience inconsistent recognition, you can adjust the sensitivity slider
in Settings (Pro feature) to find the right balance for your situation.
Can I add multiple
authorized users?
Free users can enroll 1 authorized user. Pro users can enroll up to 5 users, making
it perfect for families or shared devices.
How do I restore my Pro
purchase on a new device?
Your purchase is tied to your Google Play account. Simply install the app on your
new device with the same Google account, open the app, and go to the Upgrade screen. Tap "Restore
Purchase" and your Pro features will be restored.
What is the decoy screen?
The decoy screen is a Pro feature that shows intruders a fake "App no longer
available" screen when they open Snoop Detector during an active intrusion. This prevents them from
discovering the app and trying to tamper with it or uninstall it.
